| Indianapolis Gastroenterology began as a solo practice in August 1975 when Dr. James D. Rogge opened a practice in a one-suite office in the St. Francis Beech Grove Medical Arts Building. His practice was limited to Gastroenterology, a specialty of Internal Medicine. He had one employee. As of 1994, there was a staff of seven Gastroenterologists and an auxiliary staff of nineteen.
Indianapolis Gastroenterology continues to grow through the dedication, commitment, quality care and unquestionable ethical & moral standards, which have been the policy since the practice was opened in 1975.

With the development of concern regarding the rising cost of medicine, in April 1985, the doctors developed their own Office Endoscopy Suite in the Medical Arts Building at St. Francis Beech Grove.
On August 1, 1995, a five-year dream materialized when the St. Francis Indianapolis campus was completed and IG&H moved into the new office suite on the second floor of the 8051 Medical Building on the Indianapolis Campus and opened their own free standing Endoscopy Center, fully accredited and licensed, on the first floor of the 8051 Medical Building.
