Dr. Sperl was born in Hammond, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University and earned his Medical Degree from IU School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis and completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Sperl is board certified in Gastroenterology and is a member of:
- Indiana State Medical Association
- Indianapolis Medical Society
- American College of Gastroenterology
Before joining IG&H, Dr. Sperl was a partner with Meridian Medical Group the gastroenterology group at Methodist Hospital from 1988 until he joined IG&H in September of 2002.
His area of special interest is inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Sperl is the Treasurer for Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
He is a very talented artist and an avid train enthusiast. He enjoys hiking and spending time with his three children.
