Dr. Michael S. Morelli
Dr. Morelli was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and earned his Medical Degree from Ohio State University. He completed his internship, residency and chief residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Morelli is board certified in Gastroenterology and is a member of:

  • American Gastroenterological Association
  • American College of Gastroenterology
  • American College of Physician Executives

His areas of special interest are clostridium difficile and pancreatic and biliary disease, and he has expertise in performing endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP.

He is currently active in the Indianapolis Gastroenterology Research Foundation and has several publications in his areas of interest including a book chapter on pancreatitis. Dr. Morelli currently writes article reviews for the journal Evidence Based Gastroenterology. He is the Medical Director of the St. Francis Hospital Colorectal Cancer Center. He is currently the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers. Dr. Morelli is Vice President of Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Areas of interest include sporting activities, landscaping, American history and anything about Notre Dame football. Dr. Morelli is on the Board of Trustees for Providence Cristo Rey High School in inner city Indianapolis.

Dr. Morelli joined the IG&H in 2004.
